The V International Biennial of Textile Art, was held in the city of Buenos Aires and reached a much higher level as it introduced the concept of multiple events and salons. This Biennial attracted more than 30,000 people.
The V Biennial focused on those artists who choose to express themselves through fibers and fabrics, redefining with their work the very concept of “textile art”, to delimit it and make it explode in its multiple connotations of meaning.
Crossing borders and combining disciplines, the artists participating in the V Biennial of Textile Art start from fibers to merge with new technologies and venture into various lines of research, hybridizing searches and questioning categories, but maintaining textiles as an integrating concept.
The Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires declared the Biennial a “Cultural Event of National and International Importance.
